Earliest Signs of Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a big event in the lives of most women. When a woman thinks that she may be pregnant, she wants to know as soon as possible. Though every woman is different, there are some earliest signs of pregnancy.

Implantation bleeding is one of the early signs and can occur as early as six to twelve days after conception. It can happen when the embryo implants into the uterine walls resulting in spotting. Cramping can accompany spotting in some cases.

A delayed or a missed period is the most common symptom experienced and can occur as early as your next cycle. It’s common for women have a period during conception, though often lighter and shorter than your regular period.

Your breasts can become tender to the touch, sore or swollen as early as one to two weeks after conception. Fatigue can also occur as early as one to two weeks after conception.

Morning sickness and nausea is perhaps the best-known symptom. It can happen within two to eight weeks after conception. Sometimes morning sickness goes away after the first trimester. Other times it could be persistent throughout a pregnancy.

A change in hormones levels can cause headaches. However, hormones will be in a state of flux throughout the conception so headaches can persist beyond the first trimester.

Within a two months of conception, many women experience frequent urination. This can be caused by increase in drinking, or a UTI.

If you think you may be pregnant and are experiencing one of these earliest signs of pregnancy symptoms bear in mind that it could be indicative of something else entirely, like hormone changes, weight gain or loss or changes in birth control pill. It’s best to see a doctor to know for sure.
